Protected: The Hermit becomes Lightworker

Published by ms

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Mathew 5:13

Of all the archetypes in The Book, this particular archetype is one of the least corrupted and has remained relatively pure. Even when named “hermit” this card clearly represents a lightworker (i.e., someone manifesting the light of our divinity into the ugly darkness of this world). You can see this quite clearly represented even in the old world card. There is the lightworker standing on the mountain top shining a light down on “the path” to full consciousness.

Could it be more obvious?

However as clear as it is, in the old book there is a corruption and that comes in when you consider the isolation of the lightworker. Alone, on a mountain peak, at the top of a difficult path up, with a small lantern visible only to the those who can make the climb, this person is ineffective and impotent. They put themselves up at the top of some kind of intellectual, moral, philosophical, scientific, spiritual mountain and stand useless and isolated at the top often contributing, because of their spiritual ignorance,  nothing but pain and death to this world. “I am become the destroyer of worlds,” remarked Oppenheimer just months before nuclear terror was unleashed on the children of Japan.

What a waste of  life.

Contrast the old book version of the “lightworker” with the Halo/Sharp version. In the Halo/Sharp card, neither is the light confined inside a lamp, nor is the Lightworker isolated on top of a mountain. In the Halo/Sharp card the Lightworker stands naked in the middle of creation reflecting the light of Spirit down from the heights of consciousness and into the manifested reality of 3D.

There are no barriers.

There are no robes.

There is no path to climb.

There is only the light of God reflected into creation through the hands of the lightworker.

Could it be more obvious?

Now, in the old book version,  there is this idea that only a very few special people can become “wise” enough to occupy the role of “lightworker” however that is defined by various societies (e.g., priest, brahma, monk, or out in the west here, scientist). Of course, that’s bull cacky.

We’ve all got this light within us and we may shine it if we choose. So, if you want my advice, every time you see this card, choose to shine the light of your divinity for all to see.
